Evergreen Line orders 11 LNG-powered ULCS Megamax 24,000-TEU vessels from China and South Korea.

Evergreen-Line

The Taiwanese carrier ordered six of the ships from South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean, with the remaining five sourced from China’s CSSC Group. Delivery of these vessels is expected from 2028 onwards.

Evergreen already operates 23 conventionally powered Megamaxes with one more ship due next year.

The carrier has 16 methanol dual-fuel (MDF) 16,000 teu vessels on order from South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries, with Evergreen looking into LNG for its next major orders.

Evergreen presently deploys twelve very similar 24,000 teu Megamaxes from CSSC Group and Samsung (6 ships each), which reflects the trend to slower steaming speeds.
