China’s leading ports tightened their grip at the head of the global rankings in 2020, with the country’s ports now occupying five of the top six positions.
With booming Transpacific trade volumes, Qingdao moved up to sixth place during the year.
While number one Shanghai pulled further ahead of its nearest competitor, Singapore, increasing its lead by nearly 10% to 6.7 million teu.
Tianjin recorded the highest growth of the Chinese ports, at 6.1%.
