Alphaliner has calculated the market shares of each carrier offering regular intra-NE container services. Unifeeder achieved highest market growth of carriers in intra-NE service segment over past 12 months.
Unifeeder has overtaken CMA CGM and claims the second spot among North Europe’s largest operators. The Aarhus-based shortsea specialist has increased its market share from 12.8%, or just over 33,000 teu, a year ago to 15.1% today, equal to almost 38,000 teu.
With 40 container ships deployed, Unifeeder now operates an additional six ships, while keeping its average vessel size at 950 teu.
Overall, intra-North European service capacity has plummeted by 3.5% or almost 10,000 teu compared to July 2023.
Some mainline operators (MLOs) have either downsized or completely ceased some of their Northwest Continent-Baltic loops.
