The privatisation of Piraeus port: driven by port policy, economic policy, or geopolitics

Revisiting the privatisation of the port of Piraeus and the involvement of a SOE – initially as a terminal operator (since 2009) and later as owner of the managing entity of the port (since 2016), the authors identified geopolitical leverage to be present in various dimensions.
