Yemen: Conflict, Red Sea Attacks, and U.S. Policy

Yemen’s underlying conflict remains unresolved and the long-term threats the Houthis could pose a vexing challenge for policymakers to consider. In the coming year, the U.S. Congress may evaluate Administration efforts to weaken Houthi capacity to threaten sea-lanes and interdict Iranian support, while preserving longer term peace prospects and avoiding deeper humanitarian crisis.
