The “hard landing” facing liner shipping, as both cargo demand and spot ocean freight rates from Asia plummet, is taking its toll forcing carriers to rapidly restructure services.
After the exit of Allseas Shipping Company, China United Lines (CULines) has confirmed to Alphaliner the temporary closure of its fortnightly Asia – Europe Express service which was jointly operated with TS Lines.
The last sailing from China will be offered this week arriving in North Europe in the first half of January. CULines also confirmed that it will not exit all East – West trades and its service between China and the US West Coast will be maintained.
