The Greek vessel operator, which currently ranks 21st in Alphaliner’s TOP 30 NOO Ranking, is to add 10 Container Ships, presently on order, to its active fleet of 23 units.
However, while its currently operated vessels have an average capacity of ~4000 TEU, the larger size of the ships on order (over 8700 TEU on average) means that Capital Ship management will double its total fleet capacity.
This move also places Capital-Executive Ship Management at the top of the orderbook-to-existing-fleet-capacity ratio with 96% and would give the company 17th place in our Top 30 Ranking, provided other NOOs make no changes to their current fleets.
Seaspan remains the world’s largest Non-Operating Owner of Container Ships with almost 200 vessels totalling nearly 2 Mteu and having a market share of just under 15%.
