The Mediterranean Shipping Company continues growing its Container Ship fleet and market role. As of late June, the Geneva-based giant’s fleet stands at over 920 untis with a total capacity of over 6.65 MTeu. Concurrently, MSC’s owned fleet has grown surpassed the 3.6 MTeu mark.
Meanwhile, currently third-placed in terms of total capacity CMA CGM continues edging towards the 4 MTeu mark, with its fleet now enumerating 680 vessels and a 12.3% market share.
Overall, the past few weeks saw the fully cellular fleet of Container Ships surpass 32 Mteu of capacity, while the entire active fleet including MPPs, Reefers, and other vessel types now exceeds 32.5 Mteu.
