North American ports activity report – September

Our port forecast is projecting that container imports will be weaker for the remainder of 2022 compared with the same period in 2021 and that the year as a whole will post moderate year-over-year growth of 1.3 percent. The strongest growth is forecast to occur on the East and Gulf coasts, although not all the volume that has shifted there in response to West Coast congestion and labor talks will remain in 2023.
