U.S. ports had a very robust May but surprisingly this growth did not come from the usual suspects. In fact Port of Los Angeles handled 390,663 inbound loads in May, a 4.5% fall-off from a year earlier. At the neighboring Port of Long Beach, inbound loads in May amounted to 345,271 TEUs, which was also down 4.5% year-over-year.
