U.S. West Coast ports trade report – August

The Port of Long Beach reported a modest start to the traditional peak shipping season with 325,436 inbound loads in August, a 15.4% decrease from a year earlier but a modest 0.8% (+2,656) increase over the pre-pandemic August of 2019. Meanwhile, the Port of Los Angeles was rather busier. Inbound loads in August (433,224) were up by 7.3% from a year earlier but were still down by 1.0% from August 2019.
